just wait until they get older and you get to watch "Hannah Montana", "The Suite Life of Zach and Cody", and "Drake and Josh". Along with "Spongebob". I miss Curious George.
i say screw the DVDs and take advantage of your (assuming you have one) DVR.
What?? No Arthur?? (I think this show is actually funny and teaches responsibility and things)

As for shows with real actors...old school Blues Clues was really a gem of a show. At least it got my nephew to understand abstract concepts such as "thinking" and "problem solving." And I LOVED Zaboomafoo with the little lemur and the Katt brothers who talk about animals. Fun to watch and animal-friendly.

My question is, what happened to all the animal shows? When I was younger (or even not so young) I loved watching all the animal shows...like Jack Hanna at Bush Gardens! and things like that.

Children's programming today leaves me feeling so sad for all the things they're missing.
We had a show in the UK called "Animal Magic" - clips of animals with a voiceover by a batty old man called Johnny Morris. My other half met him when she was young, and it turned out he was a nasty piece of work... shattered a few illusions.
I think you should check out Speed Racer!!!!
